The Search For The Next Apprentice Begins!

By Matthew 20/10/2017 23:03:07

Grappenhall based architecturals firm Randle White, are on a Lord Alan Sugar style mission to find their next apprentice.

Unlike the BBC show the candidates won’t be put through a gruelling routine of tasks and team challenges, but they will need to possess and demonstrate aptitude, self awareness and initiative as well as passion and drive to complete all areas of the apprenticeship scheme.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate will benefit from 2 years paid employment as a Junior Assistant, whilst gaining recognised qualifications and the exposure and entry into a professional industry.

The scheme will enable the selected candidate to work towards NVQ level 3 in Design and Drafting with a level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Construction which will necessitate a one day a week placement at the Warrington Collegiate. They will also gain valuable marketable skills and relevant invaluable work experience at the Grappenhall practice during the remainder of their working week.

Apprenticeships are designed to help employees reach a higher level of competency and performance which is essential when trying to get onto the employment ladder.

Experience the right candidate will gain

James Randle, co-founder and Director at Randle White comments "We are looking for a student who has just completed their GCSE’s (minimum 4 A-C grades including Maths and English) in the local region and is contemplating pursuing a career in this area of expertise. We see this as a long-term opportunity and we aim to also support the right candidate throughout their further education with a view to a full time employment opportunity in the future."

When asked about why Randle White decided to look for an apprentice James replies "In these uncertain economic times many people are facing unemployment and finding the competition to get back on board really fierce. For students without the experience, relevant qualifications and knowledge of the industry it will be even harder. We see this as a spring board for them and a way in which we can share our knowledge and expertise. "

He continues, "We will expose our apprentice to most aspects of our business and get them started on CAD (software application for 2D design and drafting), complete site visits and measured surveys, as well as undertaking the everyday administrative tasks involved with the workings of an office such as filing and answering the phones, etc."

The firms expertise and projects

Randle White undertakes residential, commercial and industrial projects for major developers, as well as private client work, focussing on achieving designs with respect and sensitivity for the urban environment and established landscape.

They have recently completed two replacement dwellings in Bowdon and Lower Whitley and Tesco Express on Warrington Road, Penketh.
