Calling all Lymm residents, remember the summer of 2010, when our beautiful village of Lymm was awash with pink taxi cabs filming a three part comedy drama Candy Cabs, courtesy of the BBC? Following hot on the heals of the BBC are Channel 4 and they want you! Well, really, they want your house...
Channel 4 have approached Lymm.com for help getting a lucky Lymm resident a free house makeover. Yes, it's totally free, it won't cost you a penny.
The Renovation Game is an new exciting series soon to hit our TV screens on Channel 4 and they are searching nationwide for houses that require a makeover. So come on, lets get Lymm back on the telly. Are you an owner/occupier? Is your property at least three bedrooms? If the answer is yes that's the easy bit.
Are your kitchen cupboards creaking? Answer honestly, do you still love that avocado bathroom suit? Is "Artex" arty? What about the wood chip and polystyrene ceiling tiles? The bigger the list, the more Channel 4 want to hear from you.
Readers, here's the deal. If your house is chosen then Channel 4, with a team of qualified builders and an interior designer, will attempt to add £15,000 to the value of your home in only 3 days and with a budget of just £3,000. A team of estate agents will survey the property before and after and if they decide the value hasn't increased by £15,000 then the team don't get paid.
The presenters, Simon O'Brien (BBC1's To "Buy Or Not To Buy") and Jonnie Irwin (C4's "A Place in the Sun") will keep a watchful eye over the teams as they go about their challenge.
