The 2015 High Legh Robert Moffat Memorial 10k takes place on March 1 and with two weeks to go more than 100 runners have been taking part in training events to run the route.
To help with race preparation Lymm Runners has once again held its free From zero to 10k training course starting in the run-up to the race. Many of those racing have also taken part in two ‘Run The Route’ events held on Sunday, February 8 and Sunday, February 15.
Now in its eighth year the race , organised by a successful partnership between Lymm Runners and High Legh Community Association, will take place with a full start list of 600 runners around High Legh.
The route starts and finishes at High Legh Primary School and refreshments for both runners and spectators are provided by the school’s PTA.
The race will be chip timed and this year sees the introduction of a permanent Robert Moffat Memorial Trophy (to whom the race is dedicated) sponsored by the Moffat family. In addition, the new team category, introduced last year and won by Knutsford Tri Club, will once again be up for grabs, with a new permanent trophy sponsored by Costcutter as well as individual prizes for males and females.
Nick Gerrard, on behalf of High Legh Community Association, said: “As always the support for this race has been phenomenal both from the many volunteers from Lymm Runners and the community of High Legh which really goes a long way towards making it a truly friendly, community event to which people want to return year on year.”
