Lymm Rugby Panto no Flash in the pan!

Lymm Rugby Club’s world famous annual adult panto celebrates 25 glorious years in 2011 and is proving to be as popular as ever, with ticket sales of "Flash Gordon" moving very quickly.

In that time the show has been instrumental in initially helping the Club survive and now for fundraising for the Lymm Grass Roots Sports Appeal. As a community-based club Lymm RFC relies on the membership, donations and volunteers to fulfill ambitions to develop a sporting centre of excellence.

However, long-term members have always been keen to show the community of Lymm, and new members, just how much enjoyment is to be had in the thriving clubhouse, which is also home to rugby league, hockey, squash and many junior rugby teams.

"The Lymm Panto, we hope, gives everyone an insight into the fun we have here, and what a great place Lymm Rugby Club is," said Simon Plumb, panto writer, producer and former player. "25 years seems a long time but when we have spent so much of our time laughing, and making our audiences laugh, the time has just flown by."

"Next year we need some younger members, male and female, to join the cast. One or two older performers are beginning to show a few laughter lines, shall we say, and make-up can only hide so much. With an injection of fresh meat, I think we can all look forward to the next 25 years of the Lymm Panto!"

The eight performances will run from Thursday 1st to Sunday 4th December and from Thursday 8th to Sunday 11th December. Tickets, at £16 each, go on open sale to the general public on 29/10/11 and are available from the Panto Ticket Hotline 07789 265447 or by emailing ctcartwright@talktalk.net.
