Despite all the uncertainty this year, Lymm May Queen Festival went ahead and proved to be the huge success that it is every time. Hundreds of you took to the streets of the village centre to witness the action packed parade in the glorious sunshine.
The ever entertaining event then headed to the May Queen field where the traditional Crowning of the Rose Queen and May Queen was performed. This year’s May Queen was Thea Field, aged 11 from Statham Primary School, whilst Rebecca Layhe, aged 10 from Cherry Tree Primary School took the Rose Queen crown.
Once the Crowning was complete, everyone headed for the fairground rides and stalls to continue the fun in the sunshine. And as a last minute addition to the event, some of you may have had the pleasure in witnessing the performances from our ‘Cross Factor’ Finalists! All in all, the day was a fantastic success and a massive thank you goes out to all those who helped.
A fab new selection of images from the May Queen Festival can now be viewed in the Gallery. If you have any photographs from the day that you would like to feature in the gallery then please feel free to email these over to Matthew. Don’t forget the Photographic Competition too guys!
