Lymm Festival Continues

What more do we have in store from the festival celebrations

After kicking off to a fantastic start with the Street Fun and Food Fest, Lymm festival continues to deliver an exciting stream of events. Here’s a brief insight as to what you can expect from Sunday 27th to Tuesday 29th June.

Sunday 27th June

The Lymm Artists Exhibition continues in the Lymm Hall Annexe until Tuesday 29th so get down there to witness some truly fabulous pieces.

It’s the last chance to catch the Calligraphy Exhibition today so make sure you take a trip to the Village Hall Anexxe between 10.00am and 4.00pm to get in on the Calligraphy craze.

The Reflections Exhibition held at Edgar Art and Framing Gallery continues to wow its quests until Saturday 3rd July. Open 10.00am until 5.00pm and free entry.

Art in the Garden remains open to all who wish to wander round its beautiful setting and take in the stunning art work until Sunday 4th July. Open from 11.00am until 6.00pm with an entry fee of £2.

A popular event and now on its 5th time round, Lymm Open Gardens starts today. With the opportunity to visit some of Lymm’s most picturesque privately owned gardens of all shapes and sizes, it’s a delightful day out for all to enjoy. Gardens are open from 12:30 until 5:30pm and tickets cost £5 for adults and £1.50 for children with all the money raised going towards St Rocco’s Hospice and other charities. Refreshments will be available in many gardens also. It’s an inspiringly beautiful way to pass the time away.

This Sunday also sees the resulting work of the Chainsaw Carver Tim Burgess. Held in the orchard behind Oughtrington Community Centre, watch as Tim puts the finishing touches to his stunning new Storyteller’s Chair. Open from 12:30 until 4.00pm, admission is free.

Continue that summer feeling into the evening with the Summer Music Concert held at St Peter’s Church. Kick back with a glass of wine and some summer fruit whilst enjoying music performances by Dufay, Holst, Vaughan-Williams, Elgar and Britten along with some other delightful pieces. The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets cost £10, £7.50 (conc.)

If it’s a show you’re after, then why not try out ‘The Men I Love’ performance by Barb Jungr at Lymm Golf Club. After receiving rave reviews all her life this show is like no other. She magnificently delivers songs from what she calls “The New American Songbook” and always proves to be an absolute delight to witness live. Tickets cost just £13.

Monday 28th June

Cotebrook house will be hosting their Art and Craft Exhibition at the Day Centre from Monday 28th until Friday 2nd July. All the work has been created by the residents and admission is free. Open from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

The small local vocal group ‘Consort’ will be making a very welcomed return on Monday evening with their night of performances at Eagle Brow Methodist Church. ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ is a concert featuring music from all ages. Beginning at 7:30pm with refreshments available.

After last years success, the Young Music Makers from Lymm High School have chosen to host another evening of entertainment at St Peter’s Church. The concert will feature a variety of music and instruments performed by youngsters aged between 5 and 18. It all kicks off at 7.00pm, there will be refreshments available and tickets cost £4 with free entry for those under 18. All proceeds go to St Peter’s Church and the small charity Jessie’s Fund.

Tuesday 29th June

Author and performance poet Craig Bradley will be hosting his event of ‘That Poetry Bloke’ on Tuesday at the Children’s Centre in Lymm Library. Always a massive hit with the kids, he’s a one man band of rhythm, rhyme and movement. Starting at 4:30pm, tickets cost £2 for children and £3 for adults.

Lymm Baptist Church will be hosting an evening of entertainment with the Voice Youth Choir and Orchestra. With a variety of songs and arrangements from pieces of pop, rock, gospel and classical, it’s a fantastic evening brought to you by young musicians from local youth groups and communities. The concert starts at 7:30pm and tickets cost £7, or £4 for those aged under 14years.

The final event of Tuesday evening will be the Festival Open Mic Night at The Venue in Lymm Village centre. Now a well established weekly event, the evening features musicians and singers from all genres and ages. As an addition for the festival, you will also be able to witness performances from the recent winner of Lymm Cross Factor Talent Competition. The fun begins at 8:30pm and admission is free.
