It’s that glorious time of year again when Lymm village becomes a 10 day long celebration of all our lovely Cheshire village has to offer. Now a well established event, Lymm Festival hosts a massive range of attractive events and creative talents designed to appeal to all ages and tastes. With a jam packed programme and exciting list of ‘Special Events’ it’s a great opportunity for visitors and residents alike to truly enjoy a fantastic selection of summer festival activities.
This year’s emphasis is on family friendly fun and promoting young talent so you can expect to find some truly superb exhibitions of creativity and flair from some very gifted youngsters. With numerous musical performances including Lymm High School’s summer concert and the Young Music Makers, it’s an absolute delight to see the dedication, enthusiasm and talent of the youth of the village.
The performances don’t stop at music! There’s a fabulous array of dancing and other performing arts to enjoy and get involved with. Slip into your dancing shoes and hit the Solar Salsa night, or witness the vibrant and brilliant display at the Festival’s Dance Night.
Some exciting and inspiring displays of creativity can be found in the range of exhibitions on offer. A popular event every year is Art in the Garden which hosts some outstanding work by national and local artists, potters, designers and sculptures all in the lovely canal side gardens of the Norwegian log cabin. Not to mention, the notorious Scarecrow Trail will once again be gracing the gardens of Lymm, following this year’s theme of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly.
The festival opens with Lymm Street Fun and Food Fest on the first night featuring a selection of stalls of the village’s food outlets. And now a traditional part of the Food Fest, the unveiling of the Big Picture created by dozens of local artists.
Don’t forget Lymm Festivals end event which is the Rocky Horror Party at the Village Hall. With hotdogs and pop corn available, bring your own booze and stick on your best frock for this fab night out to bring the festival to a close. Not to be missed, Lymm Festival is a wonderful example of how a community can come together and deliver a fantastic variety of exciting events, all in the space of ten days!
