The Easter Monday of the 2010 Lymm Duck Race dawned a little cloudy, but this wasn’t enough to put off enthusiastic Duck Race entrants who came to Lymm in their hundreds to take part in the annual Lymm & District Round Table Duck Race today.
The start of the race was slightly delayed but this didn’t dampen the spirits of the duck racers who cheered the ducks on down the Dingle. The brave yellow ducks needed a little help towards the finishing line, but finally three little ducks made it!
The winning numbers were:
Lymm & District Round Table sold in excess of 3,600 ducks this year to raise money for charities which will include the Shannon Boam Appeal, St John’s Ambulance (who provided assistance at this year’s Duck Race)and the Oughtrington Community Hall Roof Appeal amongst others.
The Lymm Ladies Circle also sold in excess of 380 balloons, all of which were set free today, to raise funds for charities including Rethink, the leading national mental health membership charity, the Lymm Youth Club and the Petty Pool Trust.
