Yes it’s getting to that time of year again everyone...the weathers getting colder, the advent calendars are in shops, THE COCA-COLA ADVERT’S BEEN ON and those Christmas tracks are creeping in to the atmosphere. So start decking your halls and make a start on that mammoth job of Christmas card writing, because the HOLIDAYS ARE COMING!!
An annual event that never fails to fill you with that festive feeling, Lymm Dickensian will be taking place on Saturday 11th December and what a Christmas cracker it’s going to be! Brought to you by the Rotary Club of Lymm, together with Lymm Round Table, and financially supported by Lymm Parish Council, they’ve organised a winter wonderland of events and activities promising to be a tinsel-tickled treat!
Making spirits bright right from the start of the day, there will be numerous stalls and attractions in the village centre from 11.00am. Oooh what fun it is to ride the fairground rides lining the streets, or visit Santa’s Grotto to receive your Christmas treat! The Morris Dancers will be merrily jingling away along with other forms of festive street entertainment. Carol singers will be filling the air with those classic Christmas tracks whilst the sweet smell of candy canes and mince pies will tickle your chilly nose! Why not get some Christmas shopping done and grab a few stocking fillers from the unique little arts, crafts and jewellery stalls. And don’t forget to visit the festive fun house and watch the Punch and Judy show; you’ll be laughing all the way...
Dashing through the snow at 1:30pm, the Grand Parade will be circling the village. With floats, brass bands, performers and that fat man in the red suit, they’ll be dancing and prancing in the jingle bell square! Children from the village’s primary schools, vintage bikes and cars, jugglers and magicians, and jingle horses and carts will be giddying up their feet through the winter wonderland. So mix and mingle in the jingling beat with the thousands of other seasonal spectators who line the streets and rock the day away!
The fun doesn’t end there, as tonnes of stalls and entertainment will continue to rock around the clock till 5.00pm so it’s a full day of snowing and blowing up bushels of fun not to be missed! Have a Merry one!!
