For its third consecutive year now, Lymm Dam has once again been recognised and awarded with a prestigious Green Flag Award. Acknowledged as one of the best green spaces in the country, it’s an honour to receive this award. Lymm is proud to be home to such an admired beauty spot.
The Green Flag Award is presented to the best parks across the country, which have been recognised to be safe and welcoming to the community. Judges were very impressed with Lymm Dam’s excellent use of green space, the high standard of security and safety and its well-maintained facilities. Originally claiming Green Flag Award status in 2008, everyone involved at Lymm Dam have worked very hard over the years to maintain this title since.
The manager of the Green Flag Award Scheme, Paul Todd said “It’s a remarkable achievement that so many parks have successfully reached Green Flag Award status this year. The staff running the parks work very hard throughout the year to ensure their facilities are maintained to a high standard and enjoyed by the entire community.”
You may already be familiar with both Tim and Elaine who are our rangers at Lymm Dam. A massive congratulations and thank you goes out to them for all their efforts in maintaining the award for three years running now. The pair have a wealth of information about Lymm Dam and the Trans-Pennine Trail and are always happy to help.
