On Tuesday 22nd June the SPAR store hosted a gathering, welcoming locals to come along and have a chat about what they want, need and like from their neighbourhood store. Attendees included Steve Griffiths, Chairman of the Youth and Community Committee; Joy Parkinson, Chairman of the Lymm Playgroup and Pam Hunter, Chairman of the Parish Council. This gave residents a unique opportunity to meet and speak to leaders of the community about the issues they feel passionately about.
SPAR announced that they are keen to work with the public to help with local fundraising activities, including helping to publicise and support community events or initiatives through its notice boards and business network within the area, or by actively getting involved. This includes fundraising for charitable causes, which the store is dedicated to supporting.
In addition to raising funds for NSPCC, SPAR’s official charity, staff at the Lymm store have identified a local cause to support – St. Rocco’s Hospice. Collections were made on the day for St Roccos and members of the public were invited to think of additional initiatives to increase donations.
In addition to this SPAR generously donated a case of Tea, a case of Coffee and a case of Sugar to the Youth and Community Centre in support the Monthly Tea Dances for the elderly of Lymm. Finally they donated a prize for the Lymm Playgroup fundraising ball to be held on 3rd July in Lymm.
