Chinese and oriental

A variety of wonderfully authentic Chinese restaurants can be found in the surrounding areas serving an extensive list of dishes. With friendly local restaurants to be found in Grappenhall and Stockton Heath, they're a stone's throw away. In Warrington you can find a selection of modern venues and cheap and cheerful takeaways. The Altrincham and Sale area boasts a number of fine destinations all offering freshly prepared fantastic Chinese and Thai dishes. High standards of food and service can always be expected in the oriental and modern venues in Knutsford, along with their mind boggling choice of dishes. So whether it's the traditional a la carte menu options you're after, a choice of great banquets, set meals or dim sum there's something to take your fancy wherever the area.

China town - Manchester

Situated in the heart of Manchester city, by Faulkner Street behind the Town Hall, is the renowned China Town. The area is home to a massive array of Oriental restaurants, supermarkets, medical and herbal shops and even casinos. Being in 1948, the area has massively grown and developed, particularly in the 60s and 70s. With Manchester being one of the largest Far Eastern communities in Europe, it's safe to say there's nowhere else in Europe where you will find as much choice in such a small area.

China town – Liverpool

With one of the oldest established Chinese communities in Europe, Liverpool's connection with China dates back to around 1870. Back then the countries would trade tea, silk, cotton wool and other such goods. Today, China Town in Liverpool illustrates the way in which this community has integrated within the city. A wide variety of delightful oriental restaurants are on offer and the small shops are of interest to locals and tourists visiting this part of the city. Featuring the Chinese New Year and other street entertainment and dance, the celebrations are always filled with a fantastic atmosphere and bursting with spectators. Indian

Rusholme – Manchester

With its bright neon-lit restaurants, takeaways and fast food curry houses, Manchester's Curry Mile is world famous. Located just two miles south of the city centre along Wilmslow road in Rusholme, the always lively hotspot is a great place to begin or end your night! Most restaurants are open till 3 or 4am and there's a mass amount of venues to choose from. With over 70 Asian destinations, all in the space of less than a mile stretch, there's a choice of Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Persian cuisine. Discover some fantastic dishes you've never heard of with different destinations having different heritage and recipes passed down. With some award winning restaurants to be found here, it's highly recommended for great food and a fantastic experience.

Some other great Indian restaurants can be found in the city centre as well. These offer a more upmarket alternative to the destinations down the Curry Mile. So whether you're in search of fine Indian dining, traditional Halal cuisine, a bargain buffet or a late night curry house, there's something to cater to everyone's needs.
