James Ashington will be standing for Warrington South in the General Election as a Ukip (United Kingdom Independence Party) Prospective Parliamentary Candidate. He will also be a Ukip candidate in this May's Warrington Local elections, for Lymm Ward.
He was a Conservative Councillor for Lymm for 15 years, and Chairman of Lymm Council 3 times. He left the Party , because, among other things, the promise to hold a referendum on our membership of the European Union, was not kept.
He has been a Governor at Lymm High School, and Cherry Tree Primary School. He was a prime mover in winning and running a £500,000 Heritage Lottery Fund bid to improve Lymm's green spaces.
In 1999, he originated, and ran the Lymm Festival, with a Lottery grant. With the money we we save by leaving the political institutions of Europe, we can cut our National Debt, and start to run our Country for the benefit of the British people.
Locally, for example, we will be insisting that the Council retain the weekly bin collections, and will be approaching the Warrington Hospital for the removal of car parking charges.
James ran his own Financial Services Practice for 30 years. He is married, with four children, and seven grandchildren. He is a qualified teacher, working part-time with children with learning difficulties. He is a graduate in Sociology, from Nottingham University. He served in the Royal Air Force.
