Tyn'y'felin
One of Lymm High Schools highly beneficial facilities is the residential centre in Anglesey known as Tyn'y'felin or "Tynny" for short . Along with its 30 acres of farmland, the school bought the centre in 1958. Beautifully located in the heart of Rhoscolyn near Valley it is in ease of access to beaches in North Wales and the mountains of Snowdonia.
The residential centre provides various educational and recreational facilities which are regularly used for subject study, biology, geography, art field courses, A-level revision courses, Year 7 inductions, musical and drama rehearsals.
Extended and refurbished
Tynny has provided a great place for team building exercises, summer sports and adventurous activities such as sailing and even as a base for marketing a video. The centre was extended upon and fully refurbished in 2006 improving the facilities and making it now fully accessible to wheelchair users.

Afritwin
Lymm High School has been involved in the national Afri-Twin project since 2003. So far they are linked with Qhasana Secondary School in Potsdam Village, Mdantsane Township, Eastern Cape, SA and Glen High School in Pretoria, SA. |
| Additional Information |
In 2002 Lymm High School launched the Halls Scheme within the school. The school was split into five halls made up of all the pupils all the staff, these being Arley, Dunham, Moreton, Tatton and Walton. Each hall has its own Head of Hall, Assistant Head of Hall and team of dedicated tutors and support staff. Siblings were placed in the same Hall to enable families to build links within the system. Each Hall has its own identity through colours, charities and mascots.
Interaction and relationships
The idea of this system was that five mini schools within one big school would create more opportunities and enable the school to meet the development and welfare needs of the increasing student population. Inter-hall sports events, quizzes and challenges provide a competitive rivalry and great interaction and relationships between the Halls. |
