Cherry Tree Primary School
Hardy Road, Warrington, Cheshire
Cherry Tree Primary School opened in 1974. It is a co-educational day school maintained by the Children's Services Directorate of Warrington Borough Council, catering for children between the ages of four and eleven. Accommodation consists of seven class areas, a spacious ICT suite, our school library (which is also used for working with individual children or small groups away from the class setting) and a hall that is used for PE, dance, drama, music, assemblies, midday meals and meetings. We are very fortunate in being on a fire site that offers the ideal environment to enhance many aspects of learning. Our school playgrounds house an impressive pirate ship activity play area, a trim trail, a fenced hard surface football area, outdoor picnic area/classroom, plus out own playing field and outdoor environmental areas with a bird hide.

| Special Needs |
We aim to enable each child to reach his/her potential and to cater for any child’s special needs across the curriculum. The school provides carefully structured work for children experiencing occasional difficulties as well as providing challenges for those with marked ability in certain areas. Arrangements are made for the withdrawal of some children to receive individual or small group work in Mathematics or English to support or extend their learning. We take advantage of several government schemes which help children who are experiencing difficulties to catch up with their peers. Parents are kept fully informed of their child’s progress on any occasion when extra support is required. |

| Residential Trips |
We are very fortunate in that many aspects of environmental education can take place in our own grounds. Children are also taken to many places of educational interest on day visits as we believe that children learn best from direct experience. |
| Recurring Events |
Children from Cherry Tree take part in inter-schools and joint schools activities such as the Lymm and District sports and the ‘Young Voices’ Carol Concert held in Manchester’s MEN Arena. |
