About Us
Lymm Village Hall Playgroup was established in 1972, and is a registered charity. It is a member of the Pre-School Learning Alliance and has adopted their constitution. It is registered with OFSTED and is regularly inspected.
Playgroup aims
The playgroup aims to provide a caring and stimulating environment for its children, through adult-supported activities and free play, where they can develop as independent learners, discovering their own unique learning styles.
The Village Hall Playgroup is committed to providing activities which motivate, inspire and stimulate children - which are appropriate for their age and stage of development - and tailored to their individual style of learning.
Stage Framework
The Playgroup follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, (which continues until the end of the reception year of primary school), where children's individual learning styles are encouraged through free play and fun-filled activities. All the activities are linked to the Early Learning Goals, which state what children are expected to know and be able to do by the end of the reception year of their education, and cover the following six areas of learning:
- Personal, social and emotional development
- Communication, language and literacy
- Problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
- Knowledge and understanding of the world
- Physical development
- Creative development
