Title A Formal Setting In Open Country - entry John North
Description An inspiring entry for our 'Life With...' photo competition from John North, 67, a retired school teacher living in Lymm. John said: "Towards the end of April 2012, my body gave itself Myasthenia Gravis, whereby mewarrington health nhs life with lymm neuromuscularssages from the brain had ...difficulty crossing from the nerve to the muscles, especially in the face, neck, shoulders and arms. Swallowing and the diaphragm were also effected. However, after seven and a half weeks of treatment in two hospitals, the condition is under control but it will stay with me for the rest of my life. In mid-September 2012, it was a delight to be back in the Peak District by way of recuperation, where I was able to take this photo of Thorpe Cloud from Ilam Youth Hostel. Since then, I have walked across the stepping stones in Dovedale with the aid of a stick and stood at the base of the hill. At our last review, my consultant's advice was: "Don't let this (the Myasthenia) stop you from doing anything that you want to do." I haven't been on the summit since the 1980s...." The information on the competition is here.
