Warrington Police appeal for information following a robbery in Lymm

Police in Warrington are appealing for information following a robbery that took place in Lymm yesterday evening.

At around 7.50pm, on Monday 11th October, two men entered Stan James Bookmakers on Bridgewater Street, Lymm. One of the men was armed with a kitchen knife. They made demands for the cash takings from the till and verbally threatened the cashier, a 31 year old local man. After stealing the contents of the till, the offenders ran from the shop carrying their loot in a plastic carrier bag.

Although left in shock, the cashier was uninjured following the ordeal.

Both men concealed their faces with balaclavas. One wore a green shellsuit type jacket, the second wore a white jacket with black horizontal stripes.

Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, or who may have seen anyone leaving the area in suspicious circumstances, to contact Warrington CID on 0845 458 0000.
